This M U L T I – D A Y tour takes us on a fabulous road trip all the way down to the Southern Ocean and can be many things to many people. For some it is the Margaret River region, the magnificent coastline of Walpole, Denmark and Albany, the huge forests and tree top walks. For others it might be the incredible ORCA Whale Tour leaving Bremer Bay, (Dec – April only) east of Albany.
** For bookings over 5 people Perth Tiny Tours offers a 10% discounted rate off the Orca Whale Watching tour price.
The itinerary for this tour is quite structured as time & distance are significant factors. I am really excited about what is offered in this tour. It is thorough and includes many of the regions most beautiful places. The Whale option is not offered in 3 days as it is a full day experience.
There are TWO OPTIONS for this tour listed below. Planning is essential. Please read the notes below carefully.
This tour generally departs Perth City and heads south along the west coast.
FIRST DAY: OPTION 1: Perth to Margaret River via Busselton.
Head south to Busselton Jetty (can include 2 hour Jetty & Underwater Observatory tour – at your cost) further on to possibly include Wineries/Lunch, or Cave tour, See stunning coastline and beautiful beaches, visit nougat and Chocolate businesses and stop through some very cute and fun country towns. If there is time we can take in the Margaret River Rivermouth and Indian Ocean, In Winter – late Spring months (July – November) the Margaret river has waterfalls. Overnight at MR at a stay of your choice.
*IMPORTANT: Whale Cruise cannot be included if this route is chosen.
FIRST DAY OPTION 2: Perth to Pemberton:
If you wanted to include the Whale option this first day would end in PEMBERTON via Gnomesville, Bridgetown & Manjimup and many other quaint and curious, odd little towns. You will miss the touristy Margaret river on this day but you will see some of Western Australias best kept secret towns through this route. We also drive through beautiful farming countryside (lots of sheep, cows and one or two alpacas) fruit, truffle & wine growing regions and finally into the Giant Forest country. ** This route cuts a day out of the itinerary in order to include the Whale watching Tours at Bremer Bay on the third day. * It also gives you a shorter 3 day tour option if you want to miss Margaret River & the whales completely.
SECOND DAY – Option 1:
Depart Margaret River for stops throughout the day at selected country towns chosen for their unique history or appeal. Other attractions can include Hamelin Bay for stingrays along the beach (not guaranteed), and Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse to see the Two Oceans meet – or do a lighthouse Tour.
Beautiful Forest drives then take us into the massive giant forests of Jarrah, Karri, Marri & Tingle trees. If you love fine food there are a few excellent stops in this area.
Additional stops include the towns of Nannup, Donnelly River Village and the day ends in Pemberton with a number of accommodation options from the Karri Valley Resort or a simpler stay of your choosing in Pemberton town.
SECOND DAY – Option 2:
If you’re doing the Whale Tour option – Day 2 would finish in Bremer Bay for the ORCA tour on Day 3. Sights between Pemberton and Bremer Bay include Walpole, Denmark and Albany as outlined below but are slightly shorter stops as Bremer Bay is an additional 2 hours east of Albany.
THIRD DAY: OPTION 1: (Without WHALE WATCHING)
Departing from Pemberton we travel through forest country south to the towns of Walpole and Denmark via some stunning places. The Valley of the Giants Treetop Walk is located outside of Walpole and takes us into the tall canopy of the enormous Eucalyptus forests. (Not recommended if you have a fear of heights).
From there we progress along the coast to some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. These can include Greens Pool or Elephant Rocks then further past Denmark to the Gap just before Albany.
THIRD DAY – ORCA WHALE TOUR – OPTION 2: Start at Bremer Bay: This optional day is included only between December – April. ** For bookings over 5 people Perth Tiny Tours offers a 10% discounted rate off the Orca Whale Watching tour price. ** See more details below regarding price, accomodation etc.
FOURTH DAY OPTION 1:
For those not doing the ORCA Whale watching tour, we can either spend a little time in Albany town which has a number of attractions including the Albany ANZAC Centre. walks & drives around the town with stops at points of interest to you, shopping etc OR for those more active we head straight for the nearby Porongorup Range Granite Skywalk which has a 2 hour moderate walking trail to the top of the range with spectacular panoramic views.
Continuing north back to Perth we stop along the “HorsePower (Tractor) highway” for some optional photo stops along the way. Later passing through curious country towns to Perth City and back to your accommodation by around 6pm.
FOURTH DAY OPTION 2:
**Departing Bremer Bay on Day 4 would bi-pass Albany & the Porongorup SkyWalk on the way back to Perth. See other Day 4 inclusions above.
**NOTES for ORCA WHALE WATCHING CRUISE with Naturaliste CHARTERS, Bremer Bay.
As the majority of this day is spent on the water, my daily rate is adjusted down for you – to compensate for this. Please contact me directly to discuss the ORCA tour option and my reduced daily rate per person. Basically my fee for this day would be transport to & from the cruise to your accommodation in Bremer Bay. I only join the Orca cruise for bookings of 5 pax or more. Albany is 2 hours drive away so accommodation should be booked at Bremer Bay.
If its nature, Australian country life and culture, art, history, or just fun and something different, I can plan this trip together with you to suit your needs. Popular sights balanced with local community life – thats what I specialise in.
**Bus tours or Hire cars will always be cheaper – but you will find a private tour offers much more than a cookie cutter experience and takes all the rush, stress and pressure away so you can fully enjoy your holiday.
